Uniform
School uniform is very important to us as it helps to demonstrate equality. It is imperative that every student follows the school uniform policy and wears full and correct uniform.
School uniform is as follows:
Shoes: Formal Black Shoes (No trainers)
Trousers: School black trousers / Skirt (atleast knee length with black tights)
Shirt: White Shirt, Blouse or Polo Shirt
Sweatshirt: School black sweatshirt with a logo
PE Kits
KS1 and KS2 children are expected to bring a PE kit with them to school for PE sessions. Children will be given time within the lesson to change into PE kits and back into school uniform following the lessons.
Students in KS3-KS4 are allowed to wear sports kit on the days of PE.
Homework
Homework should be set each half term in the form of a topic grid. Students can choose elements of the homework which will help to consolidate the learning from the classroom. The amount of homework also progresses throughout the school.
Homework set is now less formal and instead, students can use the homework tasks to reflect upon their learning. Parents might like to help their child with the tasks and create family learning - make it really exciting.
Absence
1.The school will be notified of all absences by telephone and a reason for the absence will be provided.
2. If no reason for absence can be provided, or parents cannot be contacted, the absence will be recorded as unauthorised
3. Only the headteacher can authorise any term-time absences – this decision will be taken depending on the pupil’s attendance across the academic year.
4. If any concerns arise regarding a pupil’s absence, contact the Centre Lead or DSL.
5. Absences are monitored by the office staff and Pupil Welfare Support.
6. Pupil Welfare – Office Staff will contact the listed emergency contacts for pupils upon the first day of their absence to gather a reason for absence.
7. All absences and lateness will be recorded in registers using the agreed code
