Sudden or Severe Weather Closures
The Headteacher and Governors of The Linden Centre are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community. While our aim is to maintain regular operations, there are circumstances, such as inclement weather or utility issues like power outages or water shortages, that may necessitate the closure of the school.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, the decision to close the school is made in consultation with other local schools to ensure consistency and safety across the area.
Should severe weather occur overnight, resulting in significant travel disruptions, an URGENT NOTICE will be promptly posted on the school’s homepage (www.lindencentre.co.uk) no later than 7:15 am, informing parents and students of the closure. This information will also be relayed to the Telford & Wrekin Local Authority. Families are advised to check the website regularly throughout the day for any updates.
In cases where inclement weather arises during the school day, and coach companies advise an early dismissal for the safe transportation of pupils, the Headteacher or an appointed Deputy may decide to close the school early. In such instances, students will be gathered and given the opportunity to contact their parents. Updates will be provided on the website, and no student will be allowed to leave the premises without parental permission. Staff members will remain at The Linden Centre until all students are safely collected. It is imperative that contact details are kept up to date for such eventualities.
While closing the school is a measure of last resort, we prioritize the safety of our students and staff above all else. We understand the inconvenience caused by these circumstances and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
