Homework at Our School

At our school, we believe homework helps children build good learning habits, consolidate their skills, and share their learning with you at home. Each week, children will be expected to complete the following:

• Daily Reading / Phonics practice – 20 minutes each day. Reading regularly at home has the biggest impact on progress.
• Times Tables practice – to support rapid recall of key facts.
• Spellings – sent home weekly to practise and learn.
• Weekly homework pieces – 1 English task and 1 maths task.
• Topic homework – 1 project or activity linked to the current topic, set once per half term.

All homework should be completed and returned to school by the given deadline. This allows teachers to check progress and celebrate children’s efforts.
